Fluorescent pigments and inks are very colourful products that stand out from the crowd!

Fluorescents absorb UV light/sunlight and emit a bright glow in daylight. We have 8 distinctive, neon colours available. At SFXC, we recommend using yellow, green and magenta for the brightest effect, as they have the strongest fluorescent properties. Other colours include pink, red, blue, orange and purple for options to choose from.

Fluorescent pigments are suitable for materials such as paper, board and textiles. For fabric applications, you will achieve a more desirable finish if the textile used has a thick weave. A thick layer should be applied.

Fluorescent inks have a semi-transparent appearance. This means their colour weaker than ordinary inks, as they do not have a solid colour. For most applications, it will take several coats to achieve a coating that is suitable. Fluorescent inks are best used against a white background.

Fluorescent inks are water based. We stock quantities of 50ml, 100ml and 1 litre. However, if you require bulk quantities, please contact us. To clean up, a cloth and warm, soapy water is all that is needed.

Do not expose these inks to sunlight for a prolonged period. Their neon properties will degrade. In addition, using a protective coat on fluorescent inks will dull their bright properties. Alternatively, cover your material with several layers of ink to ensure it lasts longer.

Fluorescent pigments can be used in inks, paints and certain plastics. There is a wide number of applications where fluorescents can be used, including architecture, interiors, fashion and many printing mediums. Other uses include the manufacturing of aqueous based inks in addition to plastic moulding (PE, PP and PVC polymers).

Applications for SFXC pigments and inks vary widely: from design and promotional purposes to screen or flexographic printing. For example, health and safety is an important application. Fluorescents are commonly used on emergency vehicles, as the luminous colour fluorescents have mean they are easily seen.
