Thermochromic Vinyls

If you want to try thermochromics but need a hassle-free solution, SFXC thermochromic films are just what you’ve been looking for. They are straight- forward and easy to use; perfect for children or students.

Thermochromic vinyl, films and sheets are thermally activated, meaning heat (or simply your hands!) will enable it to change colour at its designated activation temperature. They are a great alternative to screen printing ink, if you want a simple, mess-free option when using smart materials such as thermochromics. These products have easy to clean surfaces, their effect is reversible and they can be used over and over! Vinyl sheets can be cut using a guillotine, scissors or a craft knife. We have thermochromic sheets with adhesive backing to make applying to tricky surfaces a breeze!

We stock matt black, red and blue colour changing film. These products will become transparent or semi-transparent in the area where a source of heat is applied. Our black films are a better choice for covering images and text. Blue can be used for heat mapping, on thermal safety devices and for décor applications. Other applications for our vinyls include temperature indicators, interiors as well as graphics, marketing and promotional materials.

We sell both matt and shiny/gloss liquid crystal sheets that produce a marble effect of red, green and blue when subject to changes in temperature. Cholesteric liquid crystal is put between two sheets of polycarbonate and then coated with adhesive to form our liquid crystal films.
